If a website is going to have a strong search engine optimization strategy, it has to incorporate link building strategies. Part of this link building process is having effective anchor text with the backlinks, so as to get high rankings for specific keywords. Lets take a closer look at John Chow’s plan for the keyword, “make money online”.

John offered backlinks for any review that included his specific keyword anchor text. Effectively, this helped whim build thousands of backlinks, which caused him to be ranked #1 on Google for that keyword.

While this is utterly amazing, most marketers will not be able to receive results of this extreme, because we do not have blogs as popular as his. It is possible to find software designed to submit to directories automatically, but most claim to “blast your link to thousands of directories.

However, if you are looking for search engine optimization, you do not want your link blasted to thousands of directories all at one time.

Search engines are able to recognize what is natural link growth and what is not. They know it takes time to build links. Usually, when a thousand backlinks magically appear, the site to which these links point gets penalized and its rankings are negatively affected.

Therefore, you need backlinks to gradually appear, a little at a time, so that it looks like it is the natural link building process. This is what makes Directory Maximizer, a manual submission service, so beneficial.
